Notification & Communication Settings

Your notification settings control how Trio contacts you and which kinds of alerts you get. To open them, tap your photo or initials at the top, then Notification Settings.

The page has two cards. Notification channels are the ways Trio contacts you. Notification topics are the kinds of alerts you get.

Notification channels

Email notifications send alerts to the email shown under the switch.
SMS notifications send alerts as texts to the phone shown under the switch. The first time you turn texts on, Trio asks you to agree to get texts from your studio.
Push notifications show alerts on this device. On a new device, the row reads Enable push notifications. On iPhone and iPad, install Trio as an app first: in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, and open Trio from your home screen. Each device you turn on is listed, with Send test and Remove.

Why am I not getting texts?

If you replied STOP to a text from Trio, the SMS notifications switch is locked. Trio shows the date you stopped texts. To get texts again, text START to the number Trio shows, or tap Text START to restart on your phone. Email is not affected.

Notification topics

Turn each topic on or off. The topics apply to every channel you turned on.

Scheduling, Messages, Announcements, Billing and Lesson notes.
Under Practice: Badge alerts, Daily practice reminder and Weekly digest email.

Announcements means messages your studio sends to its families. It is not the same as news about Trio itself - see Trio release updates.

How do I get practice reminders?

Turn on Daily practice reminder and pick a time. It is off until you turn it on. The Weekly digest email comes on Sunday evening and is on unless you turn it off.

Parents and students see different topics

A student who signs in with their own login sees Scheduling, Messages, Announcements and the three Practice topics, with no Billing and no Lesson notes. Each person manages their own preferences from their own account.

Tips

Keep at least one channel on so you do not miss lesson reminders.
If you get too many alerts, turn off some topics instead of every channel.
