Week in Review

By Trio Team · Updated

Week in Review is a weekly summary of your studio's activity. Every Sunday at noon, Trio sends it to each owner, admin, teacher and staff member, by email, in the notification bell and, when push is on, by push notification. Each one links to a report that you can open again at any time.

When it arrives

Trio makes the report every Sunday at noon in your studio's time zone. It covers the week that just ended (Sunday through Saturday) and previews the coming week. Trio skips a quiet week with no activity, no follow-ups and no upcoming lessons, so you never get an empty report. A cancelled studio, or a studio whose trial has ended, gets no report.

Neither the email nor the report shows dollar amounts. Open the report from the email button, the bell, or the Week in review tile on the Reports page.

What the report shows

The Week in Review history page lists your past reports, newest first. Open it from the Week in review tile on the Reports page. Open a report to see a short summary, then the By the numbers list, with one row for each figure:

  • Practice - logged practice minutes and how many of your students practiced during the week.
  • Lessons - completed lessons for the week (a group lesson counts once) and any lessons still unmarked. A group class is completed when every student on its roster has an attendance status.
  • Attendance - your attendance rate and the present-or-late count, for active students. The rate follows the rule of the attendance reports: the lessons marked Present or Late, over the lessons that ended and are not cancelled plus the lessons the student or family cancelled. An unmarked lesson counts as missed. A cancel by the teacher or the studio, a cancel with the reason Weather or Other, and a cancelled group class are left out. Each student of a group class counts as one lesson. See How the Attendance Rate Is Counted.
  • Communication - messages sent during the week and how many families they reached. For owners and admins, this counts messages from all staff. For teachers and staff, it counts your own messages.
  • Families - families active in Trio during the week.
  • Billing - paid, outstanding, and overdue invoice counts. This row is for owners and admins only, and it shows counts, never amounts.

Each row also shows the change from the week before, under vs. prior week (attendance in percentage points). When the prior week has no figure to compare, no change shows. Below the list:

  • Follow-ups - up to three tiles that need attention: unmarked attendance, missing lesson notes, and overdue invoices (owners and admins). Each tile opens the place to act on it. The unmarked-attendance tile also counts group classes that have ended and have at least one student on the roster. The tile opens the lesson worklist, which lists private lessons only: mark a group class on its class page or on the Attendance page.
  • Week ahead - scheduled lessons and students for the coming week, with an Open calendar button.

The short summary sits at the top of the report. On the Free plan, it is standard text. On Pro and Max, Trio writes a two- or three-sentence summary from the report's counts only. It names one good result and one follow-up, and previews the coming week. It uses only the figures in the report (never names or amounts) and uses one of your studio's AI credits for each person each week. If your studio has no AI credits left, or the summary cannot be written, the report keeps the standard text.

Each ledger row's arrow and each follow-up tile links into the matching area of Trio - practice and families to engagement, lessons and attendance to the attendance report, communication to messages, the unmarked-attendance and missing-notes tiles to the lesson worklist, overdue invoices to billing, and the week ahead to your calendar. The report's dates carry into the destination where it supports a date filter.

What you see by your role

  • Owners and admins see studio-wide figures, the billing row and the billing follow-up.
  • Teachers and staff see their own teaching: lessons they teach and students they are the primary teacher for. The billing row does not show.

Trio checks your role again each time it sends and each time you open a report, so the report always matches your current access. The weekly figures do not change after the report is made. Follow-ups and the week ahead update when you open the report, and show an "as of" time.

Turning it off

Week in Review is on by default. To stop it, open Notification Settings and turn off the Week in review topic. This stops the email, the bell entry and the push notification together. Turning off the Email notifications channel does not stop it: only the Week in review topic does. Push also needs push turned on and a registered device.
