Repertoire

Repertoire connects the music in your Composition Library to individual students. Each student has a Repertoire tab on their profile where you assign pieces, track progress, and leave notes that families can follow in the parent portal. Repertoire is available on every plan.

Assigning a piece

Open a student from Students and select the Repertoire tab, then use Assign to pick a composition from your library. The piece starts in the Active section, and you can move it through these states as the student progresses:

  • Assigned - added but not started
  • In progress - actively being worked on
  • On hold - set aside for now
  • Completed - finished

Tracking progress

The tab groups a student's pieces into three sections:

  • Active - everything assigned or in progress, expanded by default
  • On hold - pieces set aside, collapsed
  • Completed - finished pieces, collapsed, grouped so repeated work on the same piece reads as a small timeline

Each piece shows a status badge and the dates it moved between states. Use the row's menu to change a piece's status, add notes specific to this student, or remove the assignment. Per-student notes are a good place to record fingerings, tempos, or goals for the next lesson.

What families see

Families have their own Repertoire page in the parent portal that mirrors what you assign, in plain language and read-only. Pieces are grouped per student as:

  • Currently working on (your Active pieces)
  • Set aside (On hold)
  • Completed

Each entry shows the title, composer, an optional description, and a date stamp such as "Started" or "Completed". Families can open a piece for more detail, but they cannot change anything: all editing stays on the teacher side. The Repertoire link only appears for a family once at least one piece has been assigned to one of their students.
