Composition Library

The Composition Library is your studio's repertoire: the music you teach, organized so you can find a piece and assign it to a student in seconds. Open it from Composition Library in the sidebar. The library is available on every plan.

Collections and Compositions

The page has two tabs:

  • Collections - groups of pieces, such as a method book, a recital set, or a level. Each card shows the collection name, an optional description, and how many compositions it holds. Owners, admins, and teachers can add a collection with New collection, and drag the cards to reorder them.
  • Compositions - every individual piece in your studio. Search by title or composer, and narrow the list with the All collections, All levels, All instruments, and All genres filters. Select a row to open the composition, or use New composition to add one by hand.

Open a collection to see the pieces inside it; open a composition to see its details, instruments, skill level, and genres.

Importing music

Two import paths sit in the page header (owners and admins only):

  • Import from a book - type a method-book or anthology title and Trio drafts a piece list for you to review and save. This uses AI, so each import draws from your studio's monthly AI credits.
  • Import from Trio - browse the shared Trio catalog of common repertoire and copy pieces straight into your library.

When a collection is empty, a Get started faster - import a method book tile offers the same AI importer so you can build your first collection quickly.

Import history

Owners and admins can review past AI imports on the Imports page, which keeps an audit trail of what was imported and when.

Assigning pieces to students

The library is where pieces live; assignments connect them to students. From a student's profile Repertoire tab, pull any composition from the library and track the student's progress on it. See Repertoire for the full assignment workflow and what families see.

Who can do what

  • Owners, admins, and teachers can create and edit collections and compositions.
  • Import from a book and Import from Trio are limited to owners and admins.
  • Members never see the teacher library; families see only the pieces assigned to their own students.
