Your Dashboard

Screenshot of Your Dashboard

The dashboard is the page you land on after signing in. It is organized into four zones: Today, Needs you, Recently, and This month. The header greets you by name, shows the studio-local date, and summarizes how many lessons and follow-up items are waiting.

Get set up

When your studio still has setup tasks left, a Get set up card sits at the top of the dashboard for owners and admins. It is a running checklist of the steps that get a studio going: set your weekly availability, add your first student, set your lesson rates, create a cancellation and makeup policy, invite a family to the parent portal, schedule your first lesson, and turn on online payments. A progress bar shows how many are done (for example, "4 of 7 done").

Each open task links straight to the page where you finish it, and Trio checks tasks off automatically as you complete them, so the card always reflects your real setup. On the Free plan, the Turn on online payments row shows a Pro badge and links to the plan page. When you are set up, you can dismiss the card, and once every task is done Trio tucks it away for good. Teachers and staff do not see this card.

Today

The Today zone starts with an Up next card for the next lesson still ahead of you. It shows the lesson time, student, instrument, duration, location or Virtual badge, and a Past due badge when the family's balance needs attention. If Trio has a useful note from the last lesson, the card shows a Working on snippet so you can walk in with context. When the snippet is longer than the space available, tap More to read the rest without leaving the dashboard, and tap Less to collapse it again.

Use Open lesson to open the lesson details and live lesson surface, or Message family to start a message thread. Message family opens the composer addressed to whoever in that family can actually receive a message - the student when they hold the Trio account, otherwise their guardian - and stays visible but disabled when nobody in the family has an account yet. When the teaching day is finished, the card changes to You're done for today.

The side panel lists the Rest of today. It shows remaining lessons in time order and inserts neutral Free - no lesson rows where there are gaps. When all of today's lessons are done, this panel rolls forward to the next day that has lessons.

Needs you

The Needs you zone is Trio's action queue. Items are ranked most urgent first and link straight to the place where you can resolve them:

  • Autopay failures, with Fix
  • Overdue invoices, with Send reminder
  • Lesson notes to write, with Write
  • Unread messages, with Reply
  • New trial requests, with Review

When the queue is empty, Trio shows a quiet all-caught-up message instead of an empty card.

Recently

The Recently zone is a short awareness feed backed by notifications. It highlights recent studio activity and links each row to the related page. Use Notifications for the full history. If there is nothing recent to show, the zone disappears.

This month

The This month zone gives a compact pulse on the studio:

  • Collected - current-month collected revenue, plus outstanding and overdue amounts
  • Practicing (last 7 days) - active students with practice activity and students who went quiet. Click through for the full Engagement view.
  • Next 7 days - lessons scheduled in the coming week

Owners and admins may also see a quiet Plan & usage line with the studio's plan, student count where relevant, AI credit usage, SMS usage, and a link to Plan & usage. Teachers and staff do not see plan usage.
