Calendar Overview

Screenshot of Calendar Overview

The Calendar is your daily working surface for private lessons, group lessons, and studio events. Changes made by other staff or families stream in live, so what you see is always current.

Header Controls

The page header shows Calendar with two controls on the right:

  • A Calendar integration icon button - opens Calendar Integration for subscribing to your schedule from Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook.
  • Schedule Lesson - opens the modal to add a new private lesson.

Below the header, the navigation row has Previous and Next arrows and a Today button to shift the visible date range. A connection indicator on the right confirms the live feed is active.

Day, Week, and Month Views

The view switcher offers Day, Week, and Month. Day and Week show a time-grid; Month shows a full calendar grid. Each view displays:

  • Private lessons - one student per slot
  • Group lessons - marked with a people icon
  • Studio events such as recitals, marked with a star icon

Clicking a day header in Week or Month view jumps to that day. Clicking a studio event opens its event page; clicking a lesson opens the details panel.

Color Coding

Each teacher has an assigned color, and lessons are tinted to match. Studio events use their own distinct color. Completed lessons show a check mark and appear slightly faded, cancelled lessons render faded with a dashed edge, and a no-show is outlined in red.

Filters and View Options

When your studio has more than one teacher, location, or room, a Filters bar appears with pill toggles to narrow the calendar. If you have the teacher role, the teacher filter is hidden - you only ever see your own lessons.

The View options button (sliders icon) opens a popover with three switches:

  • Show weekends - include or hide Saturday and Sunday
  • Show cancelled - include cancelled lessons (hidden by default)
  • Show availability - shade the time-grid behind unavailable hours in Day and Week views

A small dot on the button signals when any option is set away from its default.

Quick-Create From a Slot

In Day or Week view, click an empty cell to open the create-lesson modal with that date and time pre-filled. You can also click Schedule Lesson in the header to start from a blank form.

Editing, Cancelling, and Rescheduling

Click any lesson to open the details panel, which shows time, teacher, location, student, and notes. From there you can Edit Lesson, Cancel Lesson, Restore Lesson (for a cancelled lesson), or Delete Lesson (owners and admins). In Day and Week views you can also drag a lesson to a new time; Trio checks for conflicts and asks you to confirm before saving. See Managing Lessons for full details.

Real-Time Updates

New lessons, edits, cancellations, and reschedules from other teachers, staff, or family self-bookings appear automatically - no page refresh needed.
