The family-facing Practice page gives students and guardians a focused place to log practice and see progress. It lives in the parent portal at /member/practice and connects to the teacher-side student practice views.
When a family has more than one student, the page title includes a student switcher. Switching students refreshes the practice home for that child, including streaks, assignments, badges, videos, and recent sessions.
The practice home is organized around the current student:
The member dashboard also shows a smaller Practice tile with streak, weekly progress, and a link to the full practice page.
Families use Log practice to record a session. The dialog lets them choose the student when needed, select the date, duration, instrument, mood, and optional notes, and check off assignment items practiced during the session.
The mood choices are Great, OK, and Struggling. Families can also edit the mood on recent sessions without rewriting the whole log.
The Today's focus card shows the current piece and this week's assignment checklist. When a family checks assignment items during a practice log, Trio attributes that session to the selected work. Assignment items can auto-complete when enough distinct practice days are attributed to them.
If there is no assignment for the week, the page encourages the student to keep up regular practice instead of showing an empty checklist.
Families can add short practice clips from practice logging and assignment surfaces. Trio keeps clips associated with the practice log, assignment item, or current piece when that context is clear. Teachers can later review videos from the student's practice-related views and lesson context.
Practice videos are meant for learning context, not public sharing.
Practice can earn badges, which appear in Recent badges and on the full /member/practice/badges page. Families can manage practice notifications in Notification Settings, including Badge alerts, Daily practice reminder, and Weekly digest email.
